On the final day of second leg we are walking and David thought he remembered an old church and if so, that is where we needed to take our Pack Off, Sit Down break. We got there and found it.
It was Sardis Baptist Church. It is completely restored and has a historical marker out front.
The history on the historical marker required both sides. The first two pictures are side one and then side two. You should be able to click on the picture to enlarge and be able to read the history. I found it very interesting.
Then the picture of David on the porch where we sat on the steps and enjoyed a break and snack.
