2013 brings 3rd Leg of The Walk

Schedules have clicked and the 3rd leg of the walk is about to become reality! Plans and Routes are very flexible at this time. Starting point is Thursday April 18th in Union Springs at the ending point of 2nd leg. We will be following US 29 north into Tuskegee, staying with 29 into Auburn. Traveling College St. leading to State hiway 147 out of Auburn crossing US 280 on 147 to intersect with US 431 headed north to Lafayette. When we started this venture, many people ask us what was the cause we were promoting. Actually, from the start there wasn't one. Then we started thinking and talking about it and have chosen a charitable group to bring attention to as we walk. As you possibly already know David was diagnosed in November 2008 with Chronic Leukemia (CLL). If you are new to the blog and following our walk, I encourage you to go through the archives here and read the original posts from the start in 2009. With that being said, David and I have chosen for your consideration to learn more about and to make a contribution to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Thank you for your interest in our walk and following along with the blog. However, you are also invited to come join us along the way and walk a distance with us. We will be attempting to post updates along the way so stay tuned! Happy Hiking!

  2. .....Hey Y'all here's an update on the "Walkers" ..I just talked with Dalton for a few minutes and he wanted me to give Y'all an update on their progress.. On Friday they made it to about 5 miles South of the Chewacla State Park turn off near Auburn...They camped in Chewacla Park last night and will do the same night......They will make it to The Cowboy Church{on 280W}at the close of today.. They got in on some the festivities in Auburn of "A" day and the Final rolling of Toomer's Corner Oaks... They were given the "eye" might hard for sure as two guys walking up the center of College Street with huge back packs on!!!! I think they will be ready for a good nights sleep...
They will hit the road at the Cowboy Church tomorrow and will go through Gold Hill and on towards La Fayette...
