On
Thursday when David was driving down to the starting in Union Springs he
stopped by The Coop and checked it out.
He said the aroma was great and their specialty was soul food. He asked the lady would they be open Friday
for lunch, and her reply was “certainly, we are open 24/7!” so David said that
was the lunch spot.
We
walked thru the square and made the turn on Highway 29 headed toward Auburn and
a couple of blocks later we were there.
Not only was the food good, we finally were inside with our packs off
and our rain jackets off!
While
deciding what to order we met another customer, Harold Gray from Tuskegee, the
Host and Producer of Alabama Gospel Music Showcase on CW TV. We had a picture made with him but the
technical difficulties haven’t been worked out so maybe it will be posted
later.
The
picture posted at The Coop is us with the cooks, and servers. The Coop is a family owned and operated restaurant
and is worth the stop. David got his
plate first and took a picture it. I was
too hungry and sure didn’t wait on a picture! It was time to eat.
The
workers that spoiled us with good service in the picture are Mary Rudolph,
April Williams, and Steve Gillis.
